Where are Singaporeans going this March?

Singaporeans love travelling! From Europe to Asia, America to Australia, every time you are overseas and you hear a familiar Singaporean tone or the occasional ‘leh’, ‘la’ or ‘meh’, one cannot help but to turn their head and feel a little glad (and maybe homesick) that there is a fellow country man near you.

We spoke to five individuals about their travels plan in March 2015 to find out where they are going, what they plan to do there and who they are going with.  Let us know where are you flying to next by commenting below! Who knows, we might just be heading in the same direction 😉

Where are you travelling to?

I’m going to be travelling to Kathmandu, Nepal, and Lukla, where the world’s most dangerous airport is!

Nepal: nepalfctrekking.com

Why that particular destination?

Simply because Nepal is an affordable enough location to go alone, and I’d like to be able to see Mt Everest before it gets too expensive too. Also, activities such as high altitude trekking are more easily done when you’re younger and fitter, so if not now, then when?

Who are you going with?

With my camera, backpack, my thoughts and my sense of adventure.

What do you plan to do there?

I plan to go on the Everest View Trek, to catch a glimpse of the Everest and the surrounding mountains. I also plan to visit the world’s most dangerous airport at Lukla airport (Runway is only 460m long) and go paragliding in the Pokhara region.

Japan and Italy.

Why that particular destination?

I’m going to Japan to join Spring Singapore’s study mission to learn about from world-class Japanese retailers. As for Italy, it is for an annual work and also partly a leisure trip.

Who are you going with?

I am going to Japan with the Spring Singapore contingent and for Italy, with my mum.

What do you plan to do there?

The Japanese are well known for their productivity and service quality. I’ll like to learn more about their best practices to bring back to my business here in Singapore.

Why that particular destination?

It is a convenient place to travel to, because it’s so near Singapore. I could easily travel back and forth within a weekend so it’s perfect for a short getaway.

Who are you going with?

I’m going there with my family.

What do you plan to do there?

Many different kinds of things – mostly chilling and lazing around, trying all sorts of food like Chicken Rice Ball and Cendol. I guess my main plan would be to take a break from my hectic, fast paced life in Singapore and just take it all in while I’m there in Malacca.
