SG50: The Unofficial Official Party by Tiger Beer

You want it, you’ll get it. That’s what Tiger Beer promised for their largest party yet for Singapore’s Golden Jubilee week. Thousands voted for their favourite ideas on what they would want at an awesome party and on the 5th August 2015, we saw the Unofficial Official SG50 Party took place at Capital Theatre, right in the heart of Singapore.

So what did Singaporeans voted for in the most epic party they’d want to be part of? Firstly, it seems that Singaporeans love food with a twist or ‘fusion’, as some might say.

Chicken Rice Balls

Roti Prata Crepe (with fruits & chocolate sauce)

Bak Chor Mee Pau

Nasi Lemak Burger

Besides the delicious and funky flavours from those pictured above, there was also a really cool, Chilli Crab Fountain! It even came complete with dipping buns (man tou) on the side. The gravy was clearly legit, with chunks of crab meat inside each warm bowl. Yummy!

Not forgetting, the Ice Kachang Ice Sculpture, craved into beautiful iconic places of Singapore.

And what’s a party without the drinks?

Besides the food and drinks, there were also funky entertainment. From a Hawker DJ, to trishaw message chairs and even ‘snow’, people voted for the strangest ideas but true to their promise, Tiger Beer made it happen.

Surely, we cannot forget the Kachang Puteh Guys!

As if the awesome food, drinks and entertainment were not enough, we were brought into Capitol Theatre where we were entertained by 2 bands: The Kooks and The Griswold, from the United Kingdom and Australia respectively.

What a way to start of the SG50 week with a bang. Thanks to all that voted and made this event a surprise and success! Also, a big thank you to Tiger Beer for making this event possible. It was officially and unofficially SHIOK!

Remember, every vote counts ;)
