#GivingTuesdaySG is our new national day of giving here in Singapore. The movement aims to start the holiday season off with a bang – and we don’t mean with a huge sale or a limited edition Hello Kitty. Instead, #GivingTuesdaySG wants to show the world that we can do so much more with our wallets than consume. #GivingTuesdaySG is a call to action for Singaporeans to come together and give their time, money or voice to the less fortunate in our midst.
This national day of giving falls on 2nd December, and leading up to this day, Shiok! will be part of the movement to show the world that Singaporeans are not bo chup.
On 29th November, Shiok! will be visiting a local children’s home to distribute sweets, desserts and good vibes for the children. Additionally, stationery will be donated to the home. Desserts and stationery are generously sponsored by our friends at DessertGuroo and Moscow Enterprise.
On 30th November, Shiok! will have a booth at The Change Mvmt Pop-up Charity Fair held in Zouk from 2-7pm. Get together to do good with your friends and family at this local-focused, do-good fun fair, and also stop by our booth to buy our newly launched products! Proceeds will go to voluntary welfare organisation Care Corner.
#GivingTuesday is a global movement to celebrate giving and provide incentives to give. It will culminate with a global day of giving on December 2, 2014. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they celebrate and help create a better world.
